“Okay… what should I be offering?” The answer will depend on your clients — and your photographic genre . Each genre requires different presentation. For example, a wedding photographer, with potential sales of hundreds of images, will require completely different products from a landscape specialist offering images intended for wall display. Bear in mind too that the most appropriate printing isn't just a personal preference but will depend on the products you want to offer. For example, we recommend silver halide over inkjet for applications where To View More >>

How do you design a Queensberry album? Well, we can design it for you, or you can do it yourself using third party software like Fundy or SmartAlbums, our desktop application Photojunction, or the Workspace Album Designer. But — let's be frank — until now the Workspace design feature has been just a little underpowered! We've been working hard to change that, however, and we reckon Workspace Album Designer is  turning into a powerful and intuitive program that for many people could just be their best choice. Apart from the fact that Katherine adores Queensberry albums, she personally feels you can’t beat printed images. In this day and age everyone (herself included) has thousands of photos on their phones, computers and social media accounts, but they rarely get round to printing the images. And yet when you hire a professional photographer the images are of such beautiful quality, it's such a shame to confine them to a ‘screen’, as they take on a whole new dimension when printed. Katherine gives us some sound album advice to ponder, interspersed with beautiful wedding To View More >>

Travel photographer Lola is a Kiwi born and bred, and her work inspires the adventurer in all of us. She has a bubbly and life-affirming attitude that shines through her photography, and motivates us to get out and explore. We’ve partnered with Lola in her photography exhibition, Aqua Frizzante. Driven by the calmness and solitude the ocean can bring, she focuses on movement and textures as she floats alone, with a more abstract approach than we’re used to. We can’t wait to see what she’s installed. Details below.  Lola got into photography at a pretty young age, To View More >>

Everything we do is about adding value to your photography … to help sell your art, your craft, your intellectual property, your time! Matting a work of art is a powerful, longstanding way to add to its worth, and we offer matting in several products — like albums, frames and boxes. But we also offer “loose” matted prints, and new customers are sometimes surprised to find they’re just as beautifully presented. We supply them with an embossed cover sheet to protect the mat and print … and make the treasure inside more special. The embossed Q device is important To View More >>

Panorama flushmounts are our fastest growing album category. Many photographers love the fact that the prints are creased, not cut, at the spine, that we offer both Fine Art (inkjet) and traditional photographic printing, and that our optional medium-weight pages mean you'll have a sleeker looking album, and can include more layouts. So here’s the thing: Is this the first you've heard about our Panos? Or maybe you never got round to ordering a sample? Now's the time! Get 50% off with our special offer. Order a Panorama Sample Album now, ready for January delivery, and we’ll To View More >>

This post on Cam Grove’s Instagram made our day, and we so agree that first impressions are lasting impressions. I once read an article in PDN about photographer's studios, and this one photographer was explaining how he had dropped thousands of dollars on buying this particular handle for his front door. He reasoned that the first physical contact that prospective clients had with him and his business was when they opened the door to his studio. He wanted that initial touch to immediately convey all the things intrinsic to his business; strength, substance, craftsmanship... It's a story To View More >>

Catherine Connor heads Aspire, one of the UK’s foremost training providers for photographers. She knows that business isn’t easy, and requires “buckets of courage”. Your first challenge, she says, is to create a business with the right atmosphere to powerfully influence the tribe you aim to attract — and of course fulfil you personally:   Make it your mission to consider the content of your business. First, study how it feels. Asking yourself if you want to be in your own business is a starting point for most creatives. What is the atmosphere like? Does your To View More >>

Written by: Clare Breheny When someone asks me what I do for a living and I tell them I’m a boudoir photographer, the usual response is, ‘Oh, women getting pictures for their husbands,’ or ‘Oh, like a bride giving it as a gift on a wedding day’. Every time I shake my head, and explain that’s it’s WAY more than that… but how do you say modestly that the time you spend with them might actually change how they live their lives? Whilst working with a bride embarking on her wedding day is very rewarding, some of my favourite clients have come to To View More >>
